I am located in a building that looks like a giant brick box, hence the name BrickBox Studios. Once you have parked through the gate in the back of the building, enter through the back door. You can also park on the street in front of the building and enter through the front door. There will be a volunteer who will direct you to my first floor studio space. I share this building with Laurie Schmidt, Cory Mitan, Melanie Stanley, Susie Jordan and Todd Rector, so please also check them out!

Painting/Encaustic, Mixed Media
Heidi Heacock is a Columbus native artist who grew up making art with her grandmother and helping out on her family’s seventh generation farm. Having spent much of her life surrounded by gorgeous landscapes of rural Ohio, Heidi likes to create textural paintings inspired by nature.
My favorite element of art is texture. I love experimenting with mixed-media by adding materials such as sand, shells, sticks and leaves directly into my paintings. When I paint, my hope is that viewers interpret the scene for themselves and they each see the world in a different light.
I will demonstrate how to paint with encaustic paints, as well as how I incorporate mixed-media to create texture. I will also have time-lapse videos of my other methods of working with mixed-media, texture and acrylic.
