Part of the 400 Square family, 400 W. Rich is a group studio site where you will find 12 COSS artists in 10 separate studio spaces. You can park on the street (all spaces are at this time unmetered), in the gravel lot on Lucas and Rich (free), or the parking structure behind River & Rich off McDowell (small fee). To enter, walk east on Rich to the open gated lot just before the railroad bridge, and walk toward the back of that space (follow signs) to the garage door entrance. There you will be greeted by a volunteer with a map of the COSS participating studios within 400. Do NOT use the brightly colored doors on Lucas—those are secure doors for artists only. Be sure the visit my fellow 400 Square artists while you’re here!
Colleen Rosshirt is a self-taught maker who designs and creates stained glass art. Colleen enjoys demonstrating the making process from cutting glass to soldering. Colleen is a founding member of Franklinton Fridays, a monthly event started by artists who passionately encouraged community interaction at the art studio and sought to bring attention to the great art revolution in Franklinton.
My inspiration comes from light and color and the motivation to finish small pieces that, frankly, make me smile. I have an optimistic life view and try to enjoy the beauty of the everyday. I hope my art reminds you to also enjoy simple pleasures in the chaos of the world. Fundamental to my business model is maintaining affordable price points so that stained glass art is accessible to people with any budget.
I will be cutting glass and offering the opportunity for visitors to try their hand at this process.
