Christine D'Epiro Abbott - Columbus Open Studio & Stage

Our studio is in a three-story brick building on 5th St. between Spring and Naughten. You’ll come to the front door where you’ll be greeted by a Phoenix Rising volunteer and directed to our space toward the back of the building. There will be work on display and for sale by me and other Phoenix Rising members. Metered street parking is available, and on Sunday all meters are free.

Restrooms available

Handicap accessible
Our building has a separate accessible entrance which needs to be opened upon request. Just tell the front door volunteer and they will arrange to have it opened and direct you to its location.

Christine D’Epiro Abbott received her BFA from Columbus College of Art & Design and MFA from Washington University in St. Louis. She attended artist residencies at the Luminary in St. Louis, Missouri and Vermont Studio Center. Her work is included in collections at Nationwide, Hilton Columbus Downtown and the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

I create abstracted representations of my home’s interior with printmaking and collage. The work begins as an observational drawing of the space that is then thoroughly manipulated. The finished compositions present rooms that are both real and imagined, inviting the viewer into my family’s ordinary and vibrant world.

I will be preparing and printing one of my mixed media works with a Sintra plate using the relief press. I will also have a kid-friendly printing activity with styrofoam plates and water-based inks available for participants to create small prints to take home.
