Part of the 400 Square family, Chromedge is a group studio site where you’ll find six COSS artists. You can park on the street (all spaces are at this time unmetered), in the gravel lot on Lucas and Rich (free), or the parking structure behind River & Rich off McDowell (small fee). While the building address is on Walnut, you will enter via the large overhead door on Rich, where you will be greeted by a volunteer with a map of the COSS participating studios within Chromedge. Be sure the visit my fellow 400 Square artists while you’re here!
Flux White was born in California. She moved extensively in childhood and came to Columbus in 2005. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 2012. In 2017, she was named “One to Watch” by Saatchi Online Emerging Artist list. In 2018 she was awarded the Aminah Robinson Support Grant to attend a master painting residency at the Anderson Ranch in Aspen, Colorado. She has exhibited for the John Glenn International Columbus Airport, Ohio Art League Spring and Fall Juried shows, as well as the Seattle Art Fair.
My paintings are characterized by their unique combination of figurative imagery and surrealist abstraction. I create enigmatic compositions that employ an eccentric iconography of human characters, animals and mythic forms within familiar-looking but imaginary settings. My paintings often display palettes of strong complementary colors and references to environmental issues, the internet, trauma and gender.
I will be live painting a portrait with a model sitting for me.
