Allison Sponhaltz - Columbus Open Studio & Stage

Part of the 400 Square family, Chromedge is a group studio site where you’ll find six COSS artists. You can park on the street (all spaces are at this time unmetered), in the gravel lot on Lucas and Rich (free), or the parking structure behind River & Rich off McDowell (small fee). While the building address is on Walnut, you will enter via the large overhead door on Rich, where you will be greeted by a volunteer with a map of the COSS participating studios within Chromedge. Be sure the visit my fellow 400 Square artists while you’re here!

A goldsmith of 15 years, Allison started her work in metal as an apprentice in a custom jewelry shop. In addition to her own work, she creates custom work and can be found at M. Madinger Jewelers in Newark working as a bench jeweler.

My work combines the rigid lines of architecture with organic curves drawn from nature to explore the intersection of natural creation and the work of the human hand.

I will be demonstrating metal stamping using stamps to make impressions on sterling silver. I will also be demonstrating CAD process for designing custom pieces with clients.
