Located in the heart of German Village, my studio is located in a carriage house behind my home, in a loft over the garage. You are able to park in a small lot at the back of my property, but street parking on Jackson, Beck and 9th is available as well. Walk around the back of my house to the left and through the lift gate to my yard. A volunteer will direct you up the stairs and to my lofted studio. You’ll see mannequins covered in my finished jewelry, along with drawers full of antique objects with which I create my pieces.
Teresa Morbitzer worked as an art teacher for more than 20 years. Nine years ago, she decided to follow her dream of starting her own creative business. Now she participates in more than 20 juried shows a year. Morbitzer lives in German Village with her husband and two children.
“I reclaim, rework and recycle vintage findings to create assemblage style jewelry. I search for materials in flea markets and estate sales. My revamped work includes beads, buttons, brooches, chain and industrial pieces. I use small metal working techniques and unique beading processes to create my handcrafted original designs.”
