Pilgrim Heidi Kambitsch - Columbus Open Studio & Stage

Welcome to the land of Openheartart, where puppets, paintings and hearts come alive. After parking on either side of Tulane, you’ll enter through an open double rainbow and transform your eyes to bright colors, textures & recycled materials. In the center of the room you’ll find a work in progress giant puppet and storage / tools along the right side yellow wall. Come join us for performances throughout the weekend. I share this building with April Sunami, so please also check out her space! Other Clintonville artists nearby are Stephanie Rond, Christy Brand and TradeMark Gunderson.

Pilgrim Heidi is an artist who created Open Heart Creatures:  specialized body puppets that are used as tools for healing and connection. A graduate of Columbus College of Art & Design with a focus on fine art and art therapy, Pilgrim’s counseling work with children taught her the power of the puppet which inspired her puppet workshops and performances.

“I create body puppets and paintings that act as vehicles for heartfelt expression of all feelings. These puppets tap into our empathy, joy, and grief allowing us to tear down the defenses that divide us and build up the conversations of our hearts.”
