I am located in a building that looks like a giant brick box, hence the name BrickBox Studios. Once you have parked through the gate in the back of the building, enter through the back door. You can also park on the street in front of the building and enter through the front door. There will be a volunteer who will direct you to my first floor studio space. I share this building with Heidi Heacock, Sheila Terry, Melanie Stanley, Ramona Moon, Cory Mitan and Briden Schueren, so please also check them out!

After retiring from 33 years of throwing pots, Laurie Schmidt made the decision to attend the Ohio State University. For 5 1/2 years she studied painting and printmaking. Schmidt currently divides her time between those two mediums.
“I have no philosophic, social or political agenda. My paintings are done for purely aesthetic reason. Part of my process is to destroy a painting even if I have spent many hours working on it. The work morphs into an abstract painting that takes on a life of its own.”
