Elena Osterwalder - Columbus Open Studio & Stage

Park on Friar and enter the front door to my home, where you’ll be directed either to my studio in the garage or downstairs to view finished pieces for purchase. My garage is handicap accessible and is full of hanging fiber and works in progress. I will be demonstrating my process for visitors every hour for about 25 minutes, so you’ll be able to watch how I work my magic!

“In my work I use two ancient Mesoamerican components  cochineal dye and amate paper, and I bring them into the realm of contemporary art installations accompanied with talks, videos and sound to familiarize the public with the ancient and still relevant culture of the natives of Mexico.”
