Cory Mitan - Columbus Open Studio & Stage

I am located in a building that looks like a giant brick box, hence the name BrickBox Studios. Once you have parked through the gate in the back of the building, enter through the back door. You can also park on the street in front of the building and enter through the front door. There will be a volunteer who will direct you to my first floor studio space. I share this building with Heidi Heacock, Sheila Terry, Melanie Stanley, Laurie Schmidt, Ramona Moon and Briden Schueren, so please also check them out!

Painting, Mixed Media

Raised in Akron, Ohio Cory Mitan moved to Columbus and graduated from Columbus College of Art & Design in 2015. He is a full-time graphic designer who is pursuing a personal passion in illustration after-hours. Mitan hopes to showcase at anime cons, comic cons, and art fairs in Columbus and other nearby cities.

“I combine visual elements that I consider to be magical in some way, drawing inspiration from history, traditional and modern views of magic, folklore, and particularly religious symbolism and iconography. My medium of choice is generally a mixed application of techniques on a wood panel base.”
