My home studio is filled with the things that inspire me: books, art and music. A picture window in the front room provides plenty of natural light. On display throughout my house will be my art collection which I have purchased or acquired from my artist friends over the years. Also displayed are examples of my own artwork, including pieces from my latest book illustration commission. I will be demonstrating my artistic process, from brainstorming and sketching to finishing a piece. After parking on the south side of the street, you will make your way up the stairs on the left side of the house and through the porch door into the main room.
Born and raised in Akron, Ohio, Brian Williams currently live in Columbus where he works as an artist, graphic designer and college art instructor. “I describe my drawings as Aesop’s fables for the post-industrial era. Dramatic technological advances have separated us from nature, so it is important to remember our humble, earthly origins. Humans are still animals, after all. The gilded, superficial trappings of civilization may temporarily obscure, but cannot deny, that fundamental truth.”
