Nestled on a tree-lined street in the heart of Bexley, my studio is located in a building at the back of my property. Park on either side of Sherwood and walk down the driveway to the right of the house, through the side gate and into my colorful space past the sliding doors. You will see my still life setup, a palette and painting in progress. Enjoy refreshments on my table and be sure to visit Chris Rankin three doors down and Hani Hara just a few minutes away!

Anita Dawson’s work is exhibited across the eastern U.S. Research into iconic imagery has taken her on trips to Italy and France. She was a visiting artist in Provence and Rome. She is professor emerita at Columbus College of Art & Design, Dawson’s work can be viewed at the Sharon Weiss Gallery.
“In my work a primary concern is to express the feeling of time and of place, capturing elusive moments of a life well-lived. These are manifested in the physicality of paint, dramatic chiaroscuro, the translation of light into color and spatial relationships. All are arranged in a formal, emblematic composition.”
